The Chinese Internet is quite isolated and enclosed. People's access to undesirable and “disloyal” information from abroad is restricted in every possible way – large western portals and social networks are banned. For this reason, various foreign VPN and VPS services are widely offered in China and, by the way, quite inexpensive. Inoventica, one of such virtual hosting and virtual server providers, has approached us having an objective to promote its services among Chinese Internet users. The IT operator involved in building nation-wide public, hybrid and private clouds by offering access to a single pool of distributed data storage and computation resources of the Group's companies and partners based on their own ICT infrastructure.
Promotion of virtual hosting and virtual servers in China.
Attracting Chinese customers was facilitated by the necessity to promote an online service, the effective sales of which required no more than just proper localization and a payment method adapted for China. As a part of the online campaign, it was decided to focus on catalogs of VPS providers and dedicated online forums of virtual hosting users.
The virtual server purchasing interface and the customer’s website in general were localized. With the support of our financial partners, a payment system capable of receiving payments via Union Pay, Alipay, and WeChat Pay was integrated. Our team collected a pool of the largest Chinese VPS catalogs and dedicated online forums, prepared a content plan and texts to be posted, and arranged a support service plus broadcasting the news content via WeChat.
The sales of the client's services grew by 100% in the first month of the campaign thanks to posting in Chinese online catalogs and dedicated forums.
More than 100 people joined the WeChat community through the corporate QR codes posted on the client’s official website and in posts on Chinese web resources.
